  1. u may be dropping ur shoulder or moving ur head. the best way to fix that is just practice doing it right. i had that prob for about a year but i managed to fix it and i'm doing pretty well now. i hope u manage to fix it soon enough.

  2. Keeping your eye on the ball and your head down is key BUT a big thing is try not to think about anything in the box. If your slumping don't worry about it. Try having a friend or parent tape a couple at bats and then you can go back and look at your swings in slow motion,.

  3. What you need to do is throw your wrists at the ball, keep the shoulders level, and keep your head towards the ball.  Also, don't always think you have to pull the ball. there is nothing wrong with a line drive up the middle. home run hitters always do this, and, in result, comes more popups.

So, basically, cut down on the upper cut, wrists through the zone first, and eye contact with the ball.  I did this in little league and boy did my average shoot up.

Hope that works out for you.

  4. Flexibility, mechanics, and a wood bat will get you on your way to becoming a better hitter. Now before you look away from this let me explain. I can bet good money that you are not as flexible as a gymnast so until you are you have not done your job on making yourself flexible, which will make it easier for your body to move when you hit the ball and run the bases.

Now for mechanics, you have to video tape your hitting mechanics and learn where you are making errors in the hitting motion. Watch video of how Major League ballplayers hit the ball (go to www.mlb.com or www.youtube.com or google search "MLB First Year Player Draft") and take the quality basics of their mechanics in the videos and apply it to how you hit the baseball. For more info click here http://theprospect09.googlepages.com and see "Hitting With Success" and "Why You Should Hit With Wood."

Good luck with the training! Feel free to email me if you have any questions at theprospect09@gmail.com. Look forward to talking with you.

  5. Roger Maris (old guy . . . . broke Ruth's record) said that the difference between a home run and a fly ball was a sixteenth of an inch on where he made contact with the bat. The classic answer to your problem is to choke up an inch, or to stand a foot closer to the front of the box, or to drop the head of the bat . . . .

the real answer is to keep you head down.

  6. That usually happens if you are moving your head. Concentrate on watching the ball right to when it makes contact with the bat.
