  1. mental block, try just having someone pitch to you in practice like they would in a game and hit until you're back to where you need to be and hit til you're not scared no more

  2. This is the obvious answer, but it worked for me - get back in the box and take your cuts. I used to play when I was in school (long ago) and had a similar thing happen. My coach had me take my cuts, and on top of that, he told the pitcher to keep throwing them high and inside. Was scary at first, but I got over the fear.

  3. This happened to me and I did what my coach called crazy to get rid of the phobia.  I went to the cages and tried to get hit.  After a few times I just lost the fear. I know It sounds crazy but it worked

  4. you have a mental block that can sometimes be very difficult to overcome. When you got hit by a pitch, how badly did it hurt? Your mind remembers this--it's sorta like seeing a scary movie, then having nightmares for awhile. Hang in there and give your mind time to accept this part of the game (getting hit) and you should eventually be okay. Just think of it this way: if you get hit, you are now a runner at first and may start that winning rally. Not as good as hitting a homer, but you contributed and thats what matters most. Good luck.

  5. I wouldn't stand and let someone throw a hardball at me. I also get scared when I'm watching a game and the Tigers take a lead because they've blown so many leads. Once when I was at a game they lead the M's 6-5 and as the Mariners went to bat in the bottom of the ninth (I lived in Seattle but rooted for the Tigers) I had a panic attack.

  6. You need to think of the reserve, the pitcher can get alot more seriously hurt from a line drive from your swing then you getting hurt in the body or arm because of their wildness.  You have to loss your fear of getting hit now otherwise you need to quit playing.  There is no way around this.  As long as you wear a batting helmet and maybe some body guards (elbows and shins) the odds of you getting seriously hurt are slim.  You have to deal with getting bad bruises.  You are young and can recover fast from those.  Most kids overcome from this fear and you can easily to.  Trust your natural instincts of avoid getting hit.  Just concentrate on getting good wood on the ball and not anything else.  Good luck!
