If the trade deadline was a couple weeks ago how did Dunn get traded to the d-backs and Byrd to Red Sox

  2. It's because he cleared waivers and he could be traded. The deadline for these types of trades is August 31.

  3. It was because of the waiver wire.  

  4. Thru the waivers, the teams give one player to a different team and then either later in the season or at the end of the season the player that the team that originally owned the player was going to get (usually a player to be named or cash) in return is sent to the other team.

  5. As long as the player has cleared waivers then he can still get traded.  That is why I still believe that the rumour that AJ Burnett getting traded will come to fruition.

    Yankees will go for him!
