  1. It resets because the team they were traded to gives them a new contract

  2. I think the contract follows the player.  If he was making 10 mil/yr with team A then he'll make 10 mil/yr with tem B.  Sometimes the trading team will pay a portion of the players contract even after he's traded.  I believe the Rangers did that with A-Rod when he went to the Yankees.

  3. The contract stands as written.  Sometimes the contract will be avoided because there was a no trade clause there.  If that's the case, the player can evoke his right to try to get the tradee to sweeten the deal for him.

  4. Most of the Time, if the Player still has a contract, the Team A (team that gave away player) will pay out the contract, or Team B (receiveing player) will Add the money from the last contract and carry it over to his new one

    Hope this helps!

  5. The player keeps his contract when he is traded. Sometimes part of the deal is that one team has to pay a portion of the money remaining on a player's contract.

  6. It all depends on what the trading team and the team getting the new player decide.  For example, if a-rod was traded to texas they might pick up the rest of his contract, part of it, or none at all.  It would also depend what the player being traded contract with the original team was.  Hope that helps.
