  1. You couldn't tell on television but Forbes is a lot smaller than Oscar.  Forget about the weight which in boxing is always misleading.  Forbes was hitting him with clean shots to the face all night but he was too small and too light a puncher to do any damage.  Those same punches coming from Mayweather, who throws both faster and harder, would have De LaHoya a bloody, worn out mess by the 10th round.

  2. No Way Jose

  3. I don't think you can base anything on the Forbes fight. It was a good workout for Oscar, that's it, but having faced Floyd before is his biggest strength here.  I don't believe the first fight was as close as judged, and knowing this I think Oscar will work hard and could come out putting pressure on Floyd more that before, taking more chances.

  4. no chance

  5. I like Oscar but nope. Oscar let Forbes hit him with some clean shots. PBF is the most accurate puncher in boxing. Oscar needed to do better than that. Oscar dint move his head. I believe he would do better against Cotto than PBF.

  6. that forbes fight was just advertisment for mayweather v de la hoya 2 he never had a chance of winning forbes was there fighting to make de la hoya look good if he is going to beat the likes of mayweather he should be knocking guys like forbes out in the first 5 rounds

  7. definitely not, considering that Forbes haven't fought mayweather and de la hoya couldn't take him out so i guess de la hoya stand no chance of winning against Floyd Jr.

  8. No.

  9. i think that he can, if he doesnt beat him he will give him a tough time. Oscar looked quick and had very good combinations..

  10. Despite Oscar's good performance over Forbes, I still see the Mayweather rematch going similarly to their first fight.  Yes, Oscar fought a good fight and did what he said he would do against Forbes, BUT that was what he was expected to do because this fight was just a tuneup for the Mayweather rematch, and lets face it; Steve Forbes is no Floyd Mayweather, Jr.- they're both good defensive fighters, but Floyd is in another league in terms of ability.  Even if Oscar jabs a lot more in the rematch like he did against Forbes, he will still most likely lose because there is a reason why he stopped jabbing in the first fight- Floyd started to time it and counter with the straight right.  Floyd will be even more conscience of the jab for the rematch because everyone has been saying that "Oscar could win if he uses his jab" and Floyd will time it once again and probably beat De La Hoya more convincingly in their rematch.  In short; it was a good performance from Oscar, but it was against a tailor-made opponent for him, and he would still most likely lose the rematch to Mayweather.
