  1. According to top scientists Science knows nothing for sure.

Carl Sagan states: "Except in pure mathematics, nothing is known for certain."

But mathematician Bertrand Russell states: "Pure mathematics is the subject in which we do not know what we are talking about, or whether what we are saying is true."

Therefore scientists admit that science knows nothing at all for sure.

  2. No, science only has theories. They haven't been able to figure out what happened in the beginning. If god was scientifically proven to not exist, that'd be the end of religion. God isn't a myth though. Can't you feel something?

  3. Either way he's a myth.

  4. Of course not!!! The bible is full of myths....

  5. Well science neither proves or disproves Gods existence many have tried to prove it either way but simply cannot

  6. Rationalism is not science.  Science is a method of inquiry.  Rationalism will claim scientific validity and/or to recognize only scientifically valid and testable states -- but superstring theory for one is therefore something that James Randi, for example, would have to reject because it is not empirically testable.

At the same time,  David Brooks in the New York Times recently wrote an Op-Ed piece about the scientific study of some spiritual states, which studies could be interpreted as providing some evidence that Buddhism is scientifically provable.

This might embarrass some Christians but think for a minute what it could do to hard-core rationalists?

Finally, I tend to accept the definition of Myth as an origin story which may or may not be couched in religious terms.   For various reasons I accept Jesus as having completed creation, therefore he is a myth although he is also apparently as historical as anyone else from back then.  The Big Bang is also a myth.  In other words, a myth CAN be provable scientifically.    Can God?  Good question.   I doubt it.  Just as I doubt that has any bearing on His existance.

  7. Based on science facts, nothing is a myth, since "myth" refers to an element from the humanities. At best, science might be able to comment on a few elements of a myth, but primarily that is the field of History and Literature.

But I suspect you are using "myth" as being "not true" (though a myth is much more than just a non-truth). As such...

Scientifically, most gods are "myths" since there are scientifically testable elements to them (for example, we know that the Olympians are myths because we can travel to the top of Mt. Olympus and see that they aren't there). However, there are other divine figures that do not have a scientificlly testable element (the Judao-Christian God, for example), and so science could not even address the issue. Simply put, science can neither prove nor disprove the existence of the divine.

  8. god",..yes,....

    GOD,...NO,....

  9. very good question! a star for you mister! (yayyyy!!!)

  10. Scientifically speaking their is no God...

Also scientifically speaking, scince does'nt know who turned on the flame of life.

  11. No, God is not a Myth. ..

  12. First off you have to understand the meaning of a myth..... I know that there are other meaning out there... But a myth is something that really happen and man-kind has has forgotten the truth about any incident that really happen....... Thus those incident become myth because man-kind knows these thing happen but they can't remember why or what the result of these things happening.......... Now that is the true meaning of a myth....... So if God is a myth that mean that God really exist but man-kind has forgotten why... And that is what the bible is for to remind us about our loving always giving God......................

  13. God is not a myth because they have found pottery in the red sea and chariot wheels also and a whole bunch of proof that i forgot now!!!!
