Question:

Basement Privacy concerns regarding meter reading New York City?

We are remodeling the basement and would like opinions.

We have an electric meter in the front of the basement. There is a wall dividing the living area and the front where the meter man comes to read the meter.

the living area is currently about 13feet wide x 20feet long studio.

We are thinking about knocking down the wall to add an 6feet in length. making the new area 13x26x

However we are not sure if future renters are concerned about the meter person seeing their whole room when he comes to read the meter.

If you were looking for a place to live would this be a big issue for you? or not an issue at all.

  1. Not an issue at all.  Trust me, they will LOVE the bigger room and not give the meter reader a thought.

  2. i don't see why it would be a problem, i never notice the meter person or ever seem them come by

    a bigger room is nice
