Basement full of water?help?

who to call when i have water in my basement? What is the cheapest company

Do you have a sump, and a sump pump?  It is possible to install those yourself, with a little work, but it should have been done when the house was built. Research it on the web and see if you think you can tackle it yourself.  I have seen them installed in an older house, on This Ole House.

Don't know if you have carpet down there?

If not:

When I had this problem I used a pool pump.

They are fairly inexpensive, just hook a hose up to it & run it outside or into the sink

If you do:

Depending on how long the water was down. You need to pull back the carpet, cut out the affected pad & replace it with new pad. You can bring a piece to Home Depot to match it up. Raise the carpet with a crate or something & let a fan blow on it until it's dry. Then replace the pad.

You should have the carpet cleaned afterwards.
