i have a at&t dvr, and i like to record my programs, after i am done watching it i erase it. Does that take away from the space the dvr can hold? Like lets say the dvr can hold 5 hrs, and i record a program that is 2 hours. I have a erased the 2 hrs. does my dvr only hold 3 hours left, or the full 5 hrs.?

Please, and thank you ♥♥

  1. After a program is erased from the hard drive, the space it had been taking up is now empty. I am unfamiliar with AT&T DVR but i know on TiVo it keeps your recording in a folder for a few hours before actually deleting, in case recovery is desired. If your DVR is behaving similarly it may not be erasing the recordings instantaneously, and therefore not displaying any more space, but eventually you will have a clean slate again.

  2. when you erase a program, you get that disc space back.
