What do the right and left side of the heart do? What do ventricle and atria do? What does it mean if blood is red or blue?

  1. The heart is one of the most amazing organs in our bodies.

    i will answer your first two questions simultaneously:

    deoxygenated blood enters the right atrium from the vena cava (your largest vein), down to the right ventricle, the from the right ventricle it enters the pulmonary arteries to go to the lungs.  In the lungs the deoxygenated blood becomes oxygenated, and heads back to the heart via the pulmonary veins.

    The now-oxygenated blood then re-enters the heart in the left atrium, down to the left ventricle, and then finally out of the heart to the aorta and on to the rest of your body to supply it with oxygen

    "Red" blood means it is high in oxygen and low in carbon dioxide

    "Blue" blood means it is low in oxygen and high in CO2
