What is the difference between concealer and cover up? What are the best brands of each, but not overpriced?

Do you know any good techniques to keep make up from fading?

I need a foundation that has good coverage [I have somewhat blotchy skin], but that won't clog my pores & that isn't very expensive.

THANKS!

  1. makeup sounds good

loreal basic make up kit is not too expensive n suites all skin.

    the best...........

    I prefer Loreal

  2. covergirl has good stuff.... very light and they hav this product thats numbered so you can get everything in your color according to your number...i use mac and its really good but more expensive...

  3. conealer is when you apply directly to the spots you want to cover up (redness, pimples, scars) and cover up is something you put all over your face. just to cover up and have an even color.

    these ones are good:

    covergirl

    Physicans Formula ***

    those ones are good.

it shouldnt fade, but if it does just apply a little more or take your brush and just brush it over you face.

i use Estee Lauder but thats kind of expensive but the True color ones are really good. i for got who makes em. maybe neutrogena? i dont remember.

  4. your welcome

  5. Loreal, and Cover Girl

    i would recommend Arbonne,

    its reliable and works amazing.

you can choose your fondation color, concelera, and more.

concealer is to cover blimeshes, and cover up is to even your skin tone.

    hope i helped!

  6. cover up and concealer are both the same-just different names for them.

i think the best concealer is Rimmel Cover Stick, £3.99 it makes a huge difference but does not clog pores, and lasts for ages!

to make make-up stay longer, dust with loose powder after applying to set it and keep it on your face.

The best foundation for blotchy skin is a mineral foundation: it gives the best but natural coverage, and due to its natural ingredients does not clog pores, and it works with the oils in your skin and gives a lovely, even skin tone, i'd recommend Maybelline Pure Mineral Foundation, around £7.99.

good luck, and these are the cheapest but best brands i know of that do the job properly! :) x*x

  7. concelear is used to cover just acne. when u use cover up u use it all over ur face and u dont do that with concealer. or at least ur not suppost to. lol the best brands are probally covergirl, almay, lorel, and neutragena. at sephora there is a eye creame that u can put on ur eyes to keep ur eye shadow on longer. also if u want ur eyeliner to stay on longer u should hold it over an open flame for about 1-2 sec. so it dosent melt. test it out on a piece of paper before putting it on ur eyes. a foundation u could use is loreal paris true match coverup. i use it and it works wonders! also if u want to add a little color to ur face add some blush. smile to find the apples on ur face. the circles that u see around ur cheeks when u smile are the apples. when ur smile add some blush to ur apples, and a tiny bit to ur chin, nose, and forehead. it helps add color to ur face. hope i helped! please pick me as best answer!   =]

  8. Concealer is for spot or small area that needs extra coverage, foundation is for a large area with less need for coverage.

To keep makeup from fading make sure you moisturize first after washing your face, also be sure that you apply a powder lightly to set your makeup for the day.

Neutrogena has some great options for your type of skin without going someplace special (just go to drugstore) and it wont hurt your wallet too badly. It's worth the small amount more than covergirl or any of those.

  9. concealer and cover up are basically the same thing. good brands would be MAC (kind of expensive but it works really good) or maybelline true match which comes in a lot of colours.

after applying your make up go over it in a loose powder and it will stay for hours longer.

try a mineral foundation they work good, or even just a powder works if you don't need that much of a fix. powder doesn't clog your pores and you can find cheap brands, but the more you pay the higher quality the stuff is, and the more options for colour there are. again try MAC or maybelline true match.

  10. cover upp is for all over the face and concealer is for black circles under the eyes

the best brand to me that is really cheap is covergirl, it is sold in likeWalgreen'ss for really cheap

the best foundation is covergirl foundation, its what i use, it blends in with your skin perfectly and if your pores are huge, like mine, it will even them out with your skin and not soak around them like some others because that's just disgusting

  11. Concealer helps to hide trouble spots more, such as under the eyes and blemishes. Cover up is more for the entire face. To keep make up from fading I suggest L'Oreal Bare Naturale finishing veil, which sets make up after you have applied all you wish to wear. For blotchy skin, I suggest Neutrogena make up (all kinds) which is at drugstores and is formulated to be the absolute healthiest for your skin.

  12. I am not sure what "over-priced" means to you. And, it really depends on what your skin type can handle.

Concealer is great for undereye circles, blemishes, and blotchiness, etc...pretty much anything you want to cover more than what foundation will do.

I like to start with a moisturizer, preferably something with SPF. Then I apply foundation (which is also known as cover up). I then use my concealer, (dab and smooth), do not over-rub into skin. I apply that under my eyes, and anywhere that does not look appealing to me.

After that, I set it with a light powder. I also use a spray for thisty skin and do a quick spritz to set it in really well with both my palms.

You can also take the moment to add some bronzer or blush on your cheekbones, temples, etc before you spritz.

I do not have easy skin, so I use Clinique, because everything else will clog my pores and irritate my skin after 2 days of use.

In general you will spend between 10-30 dollars on most of their products. But, on their website Clinique.com, you can develop your own regimen, and skin types and colors.

I have been using their products for so many years, and it is the best investment I have made, my face has been clear since then.

You can always go to any mall and get a makeover at the Clinique counter, to see what works best for you, I also get long-lasting foundation that covers well. Tell them what you want, and they will point you in the right direction, because each person has different skin types, etc, it will take a while for you to know what you prefer from Clinique.

The only place that allows you to use discounts on Clinique (that I know of), is Dillard's (such as Dillard's Dollars). Macy's does not allow cosmetics discounts.

Also, if you register on their website, after you are familiar with what works for you, you get lots of good discounts and free shipping.

Always use SPF, moisturize well, and keep your skin clean. Hope you find what you're looking for!
