Ok, I'm in Eighth Grade right now, but next year, I want to cheer for Varsity. I know it's ambitious, but I really want to do it! I've already downloaded the Tryout Info for this year, so I can get a general idea of what tryouts will be like, and guys, its tough!

I can do a cartwheel, a back bend ( standing ), and a round off. Sad, I know, so what are some tumbling basics I NEED to know for Varsity? how about J.V?

They said that for Varsity, a standing back hand spring is needed, so what can I do to learn that?

Oh, and here is what they are looking for during tryouts.

 Dance

 Cheer

 Jumps

 Stunting

• Base

• Back Spot

• Flyer

• Front Spot

Tumbling

What exactly is dancing in cheerleading?

I have roughly 11 months to start, so with you guys' help, I COULD be on varsity!

  1. You need to go to a gymnastics center or cheer gym to learn your back handspring. But to learn it faster you can do daily drills at home.

You can find information, pictures, and videos of all the things in your list here: http://aescougarcheer.com/Cheer101/basic...

Good luck, and good job for getting to work early. :^D
