Basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, Men and Women???

Hmmm. My husband is doing his basic training at Fort Leonard Wood, and I was wondering, how do the men and women work together? I know the training is done together, but how so? Also, what about sleeping quarters, and eating? How does all that work?

I'm just curious, not that I don't trust my husband, just trying to understand a little better.

  1. They sleep in the same rooms and use the same showers too. What is wrong with you? They might train together and eat meals together but that all! Go back to reading your Enquirer.

  2. I was at Ft. Leonard Wood for AIT but did BCT at Ft. Jackson.

Men and women train together, work together in groups, and sit together in class. We were actually suppose to sit at different places while eating, but you aren't suppose to talk while eating anyway. In the barracks the males are on one floor and the females another. Then use separate staircases. A male is usually the PG and a female is the APG. Usually the platoon has 2 male drill sergeants and 1 female.

Men and women train together because you have to learn to work together in the Army.  Your battle buddy has to be of the same s*x or 2 memebers of the opposite s*x.

  3. Yes Fort "lost in the woods" is multi gender training. They are seperated for their sleeping quarters but do eat together in a central dining facility. Fear not, it is a controled enviroment and fratinization is forbidden.
