  1. consult and ent specialist and dont try to take any medication yourself.,

  2. You could try water with some Fennel seeds (Saunf) in it...its sweet and will be soothing for ur throat...you could boil water, drop a few fennel seeds and leave it so...when u go to your college, carry a bottle of the filtered water with you....have a sip after every lecture....good luck..

  3. Hello, I am a teacher as well.  I keep a bottle of water handy.  I like it very cold so I freeze half of it, then fill it when I get to school.  It lasts most of the morning that way.

  4. I give you some suggestions.

Don't keep your throat dry. Drink two glosses of water before taking class. and chewing gum is a better way to keep your throat wet and also it give a good breath.

The above are the temporary solutions for your problem.

You are a teacher. It is your profession.

You must change your lifestyle for better results.

Try some Breathing exercises. cycling, running gives you great breathing strength. and importantly if u have smoking habit it affect your profession greately. Do right things.........

    Best of Luck......

    :-)

  5. Rape a duck. No,jush kidding. :P Take some saltwater and baking soda, gargel. It will fell weird at first, but it will help. :]

  6. Purchase a headphone set like they use for aerobics.  This would allow you to talk in a normal voice and be heard by the students.  Our PE teacher uses it in the gym.

  7. We'll you're obviously only going to confuse your students if you try giving them written notes.

  8. Don't do all the talking.

  9. If your throat is bothering you after 2 lectures, you are talking too much!  Put students in groups and have them work on questions you give them. Make the questions difficult, so that they really have to think and justify their answers. Then, lead them in a class discussion.

You don't say what grades you teach or what subject but I bet you teach in Asia/India. Teachers there lecture only instead of making their students think about the subject they are learning. I used to teach in Hong Kong and teachers lectured while students listened. Some teachers wore microphones because they lectured so much that they lost their voices.

It is my humble opinion that it is not enough to just present information. Teachers should also let students have time to think about the subject and form opinions and talk about what they have learned.

I think that if you incorporate more student-centered activities, you will find that your throat problems go away!

    Good luck to you!
