  1. yea im on the swim team first off its one sport that can be found in club areas so go to your park and you can usualy find a commpetative swim team they can get you staarted and help you out

  2. Ask the coach to show you the strokes if you dont know them already.  Then just dive in and have fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. practice and pay attention :)

  4. Dive in and swim, the fastest one wins it's really that simple.

  5. You might want to check this website:  USAswimming.org.  You'll find lots of info on swimming and can also find a link that will give you information on any swim clubs in your area.  If you have a YMCA or community recreation in your area, they might offer swim lessons that would work on the different strokes.

Good luck - and have fun!

  6. Dont worry so much about this. Every coach, team, school, etc will have their own rules and culture. You will be briefed and guided by seniors or the coach from day one. Just maintain a positive attitude and go along with the others. You shall be all right, promise, and cheers!!

  7. well....i don't mean to scare you away..trust me, its a great sport and u'll make a lot of friends..but swimming=dedication..im the girl who loves sports. ive played everything..including flag football..and trust me..swimming is harder than any of them. swimming on the high school swim team..means *for me anyways* 5 AM swim practices and then more practices after school..it takes dedication..but here is the swimming 411

u will hear scary numberes like 25s 100s..500s even 1000s or more.. the lap of the pool is a 25..so just divide everything by 25..if ur bad at math...for anything over a 100 just multiply by 4 and take away 2 zeros.

an IM is a fun event in swimming. a 100 IM is four laps of all for strokes in this order.. butterfly, backstroke, breastroke, free.

u probaly know this already but in swimming every second counts.. time is HUGE..so basically u train everyday for that second that splits u apart from u and that gold medal

its a lot of fun but its also hard...if want any more help just post a question up again and ill try and answer
