  1. Do you want oregano?  Mine is getting so thick, I'm trying to give it away.  They will grow like a weed; easy.  These can be grown in 6" planters if desired.

Basil, RoseMary, Thyme, Parsley, Oregano, Sage, Mint Leaves, & Dill all grow easily.  The little seeds should not be planted deeper then 1/4".  My Thyme, Oregano, Mint Leaves and Catnip reseed themselves each year.  The taller plants like dill should have plenty of room so the small planters don't tip over when they get tall.

When they grow leaves, pluck the leaves & allow to thoroughly dry.  Label the ziplock bag & toss in cupboard.  The Thyme don't really have 'leaves' but more of a bristly stalk and is cut and dry thoroughly before storing.  Can store for years same as those containers you buy; just fresher and positively without any additive plantings.

Several people plant Sweet Basil around their tomatoe plants and believe that it enhances a sweeter taste to the tomatoes.
