Basit Ali backs Danish Kaneria to partner Saeed Ajmal in Test cricket – Cricket News Update
Former Test cricketer, Basit Ali has urged the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to resolve the matter of Test leg spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Saeed-Ajmal-c87859.
Kaneria has been out of the national team since the tour controversial tour of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/England-c56013 last year, where he was dropped in between the Test series because of poor performances.
However, the leg-spinner was later selected for the Test series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/United-Arab-Emirates-c3033 (UAE), but he was held back at the very last moment because of some match-fixing charges. According to Danish, he has given the details of his banking
transactions to the board and nothing has been proved against him.
Recently, left arm spinner, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Abdur-Rehman-c41691 has been playing the role of second spinner for Pakistan in all the formats of the game. However, Basit feels that Kaneria should be playing Test cricket for Pakistan because he is a wicket-taker and has more of a
chance to dismantle the opposition. This is the reason why he wants the PCB to solve this issue as soon as possible because the national team needs his services.
Basit said, “In my view, playing Danish Kaneria alongside Ajmal would further strengthen our bowling attack. Danish is a big spinner of the ball whereas Abdur Rehman is more of a containing bowler. I’m sure the new PCB Chairman will take interest and resolve
this matter.”
Former batsman from Karachi has been keeping a close eye on the domestic cricket of Pakistan as he is the coach of the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL). While talking about the emerging players for Pakistan, Basit claimed that the young left arm
