well im gonna be a sophmore at my highschool and im currently playing football but i was thinking about trying out for the bball team and ive never played before but ive been playin sum street and im an athlete, so do you think its to late for me to make a Jv team (6A)

Yes it is possible. But you need to practice, Many athletes have been stars on 2 sports while they were in high school.
