I read an article that Chris Kaman form the LA Clippers applied for German citizenship and is playing for their national team. Would he have to renounce his USA citzenship to become German or is he still an American citizen?

I'm not normally into sports that much but this just came to mind.

THANKS!!

  1. dual citizenship- a lot of NBA and especially WNBA players have it. WNBA players play their offseasons overseas where they make a great deal more amount of money than they do in the WNBA.

  2. No he is still an American citizen like Manny Ramirez just got his American citizenship but he's still Dominican

  3. America recognizes dual citizenship, but I don't know about Germany.  I would doubt it.

  4. He has Roots in Germany and no he's not renouncing his citizenship!!

  5. Chris Kaman grew up in Wyoming, Mich. He was granted German citizenship due to his grandparents who were German. He can never play for the Americans in Olympic competition now.

  6. he is still a USA citizen
