When a person does a spin move, is it legal for them to wrap their arm around you and push you away to get that edge or to get ahead of you?

  5. It is the same in the NBA and NCAA as it is in High School.

    This is the High School ruling 10-6-3:

    "A player shall not use his/her hands on an opponent in any way that inhibits the freedom of movement of the opponent or acts as an aid to a player in starting or stopping."

    or

    4-26:

    "Holding is illegal personal contact with an opponent which interferes with his/her freedom of movement."

    There is no such term nor foul called "hooking"; that term is considered player's slang.

    The proper call and signal would be for "illegal use of hands" or "holding".
