Basketball News: New York Knicks 125 - 119 top Golden State Warriors
A total of 19,808 fans saw Raymond Felton lead New York Knicks to victory over Golden State Warriors at the Oracle Arena, Oakland.
It was Knicks' second win in a row following their six-game losing streak that set them up for a potential 3-1 road trip if they can sustain the momentum in their upcoming match against Los Angeles Clippers.
Prominent Players
Besides Felton, 3 Knicks' players played incredibly and scored points in double digits. Amar'e Stoudemire scored 26 points backed by 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Danilo Gallinari played his part by contributing 23 points. A payment of 6 rebounds, 3 assists
and 13 points was made by W. Chandler.
Warriors’ Guard Monta Ellis did all he could, totalling 40 points, but all in vain as his side lost the game. Stephen Curry followed him with 29 points, 8 assists and 5 rebounds. Reggie Williams added 18 points.
Game Story
Warriors' offence was startling but their defence let them down. On the other end, the entire line up of Knicks was terrific, dragging them towards success. There was a 31 – 31 tie at the end of first quarter.
Warriors voted for control of the game by permitting Knicks to shoot 60.9 percent in the second quarter.
With 7 minutes left in the first half of the play, a lay-up by Williams pulled the Warriors to within 46-43. New York responded effectively with an 18-5 run. Felton was being chased by Curry in order to slow his speed down. He wound up falling back and throwing
up a 16-foot fade away off-balance which banked, giving the Knicks 64-48 lead.
Golden State tracked 72-59 at the first half of the play.
The Warriors were accelerating with low velocity and didn't make much progress in the third quarter. New York built their lead as high as 18 points. Ellis did his level best to keep the Warriors in the game, scoring 13 in the third quarter, in contrast to
12 from the rest of his teammates.
Within the first three quarters, first of the four shots were missed by Curry. He finally got going in the fourth quarter with a 3-pointer, then netted a couple of free throws after a Knicks' turnover. Just like that, Knicks' lead was down to 98-89.
In the fourth session of the game, Curry found swingman Williams for a 3-pointer, cutting the margin to 100-95. Less than two minutes later, he again found Williams around for another open 3-pointer: 104-100.
Knicks' forward Gallinari knocked down three straight from behind the arc. Gallinari’s third 3-pointer, at the 1:25 mark, put the Warriors down 119-112.
The last moments of the final session were incredibly played by the Knicks and a huge win was registered.
State of the game
Raymond Felton scored his career-high 35 points along with 11 assists, five boards, four steals and one block. These 35 points are the first-class number scored by a Knicks all season.
Turning point of the game
With just under 4:30 remaining in the game, the sharp shooter Danilo Gallinari decided to take over with full energy, draining back to back three's, two big free throws and then a clutch, contested three with 1:25 left. He played his part tremendously to
close up the Knicks first win against Golden State in nine years.

“Raymond played great. He was unbelievable. He was hitting shots, passing the ball and controlling the rhythm. He carried us out there,” said Danilo Gallinari.
"It's nerve-wracking because we haven't won (in Oakland) in 58,000 years. You got to be able to close things out. I know we've got new guys, but it's still the same thing. We're working on that and I think we're getting better at it. It's nice to be able
