Basketball Shooting Range.. Need Help.. Working Out?

I am 13 almost 14 male going to grade 9 and I have barely any shot range. I can only shoot free throws by jumping, and I can only shoot about 6 inches behind the free throw properly.. I don't know why I can't shoot farther behind. I have good form and stuff and I know I get alot of the power from my legs. Should I start working out my legs and a bit of my arms to get more power? Yes or No? I know that I can't get any more power at all from my legs and if I try my shot gets all messed.. So should I workout?

  1. work out your forearms and your wrists a lot of the shot comes from the wrist


  2. Working out won't necessarily hurt, but I would also take a good look at your form. Are you arching you shot enough? How is your follow through? Get with a coach or even just an experience shooter, and have them got thru your shooting  motion with you. There are so many keys to a good shot you could be missing several, IE keeping your elbow in, shooting at the top of you jump, elbow under the ball. get with an experienced person and they can show you the way.
