Basketball Update: Ming’s Career is on stake
Injuries are very common when we talk about sports and their influence on players’ careers is even higher when it comes to international level. At the international level, an athlete needs to stay fit and strong and in form to compete against world’s best and powerful opposition. So the risk of injury gets higher with the higher standards of the game. The world of basket ball is suffering from serious issues as some of the bigger names of basket ball players are sitting outside of the court because of their injuries. The recent injuries of David Lee and Robin Lopez are not good news for the American Basketball Association and to our utmost surprise, the Chinese Basketball star is still not getting out of his bad times.
These days the famous basket ball team from Houston Texas, named as Houston Rockets is patiently waiting for his veteran Chinese player to regain his lost fabulous form. The Chinese basket ball star Yao Ming is resting and restoring his strength and fitness in Beijing, China. Yao Ming is trying hard to regain his best form as soon as possible but all of his efforts are going in vain.
Yao Ming is sitting outside of the basket ball court due to his left foot fracture and is compelled to rest for indefinite period of time. He faced this injury in the semi finals against Los Angeles Lakers in May 2009. Ming is upset and keeping his fingers crossed because it seems very hopeless to him to recover his match fitness before the Rockets Training camp for the next season this year. Talking to media on Thursday, Ming expressed his views in the state of despair that it is not possible for him to get fit before next season.
These days Ming is working and trying to contribute in any possible way for his team, which doesn’t seem possible at all. He added that he is eager to get back but he is not confident of getting back stronger. He said that he has not tested himself yet after his injury and has not gone through a serious training session also. Yao Ming is suffering from a serious career threatening injury. He is going through a stage where he could possibly see himself sitting outside the basketball court forever and watching the game as a spectator.
China’s most famous athlete is in state of despair and worry these days, as his career is on stake. The seven feet six inches tall Chinese champ is going to turn 30 this September and he is very well aware of the fact that this is probably the best and peak time for a basket ball player to play at his best. China’s wealthiest sports person Yao Ming still wants to play for his country and hopes best for a strong comeback as a national hero.
At one side if we talk about Ming’s age, which is probably the best to compete against any opponent according to strength and experience point of view. However, no one can ignore the fact that Ming has reached 30 years of age and his career will stay for not more than 5 years more. It is not difficult to assume that Ming is no more the future of Chinese basket ball. This fact is well admitted by Yao Ming himself.
May be this is the time when Chinese basket ball association should come up and help some young energetic players to groom their skills and talents to lead the Chinese Basket ball squad in future. Yao Ming is out of the basket ball court but his dedication and skills cannot be ignored. He is a Chinese legend and a master of the tricks and trades of basket ball arena. We hope to see him back to normal again, as his absence makes his team look a little colourless.
