Basketball conditioning for freshman?

i have the following equipment:

bench set (lowers for hard crunches, raises for dips, can do flat bench, leg raises, and curl curl the leg raiser)

jump rope

2 5 lb's, 1 10 lb, 1 25 lb free weights

ankle weights

perfect pushups

pull up bar

what exercises can i do?

i will give a thumbs up (one point) for every good answer, and of course the best answer (ten points) to the best answer, which should have many exercises that i already don't do.

  1. you're going to need speed and endurance more then strength, you're not trying out for football. start running a lot more. if you are an incoming freshman they will be having a lot of scrimmages and fitness drills to see what you can do.

    you can increase your speed and agility on the basketball court. start out by shooting freethrows. for every free throw you miss run a 17 (stand on the sideline and run from sideline to sideline 17 times)  and continue to keep shooting more freethrows. you will have to do this anyway once you make the team. it will enable you to be quicker, faster and you will be able to have the leg and arm strength to keep shooting even though you're tired.

    also, stand under the backboard. jump up and down tapping the backbound for two minutes. stop, do the freethrows/17's and repeat.

    these are simple but very important drills you will have to do anyway once you start practicing on the squad, it's very good for you and you should see good results fast
