Basketball move/trick help?

I have seen many players dribble the ball while running very fast and then suddenly they stop and bring the ball back. What is this move called ? How can i learn to do it ?

  1. when your stoping make your last dribble while running with your finger tips on the front of the ball


  2. Are you talking about a hesitation move? It's when you dribble like you're driving to the basket then pause your movement for a split second to look like you're gonna shoot before continuing the dribble.

    You'd do this by splitting apart your dribble from your leg movement. Practice it at lower speeds before speeding up. Your mind has to be able to process your hands dribbling movement as different from your running. It takes time practicing at lower speeds. Remember, wrist flicks are separate motions from legs running. Keep the wrist flicking while your legs stop.

  3. Hesitation dribble. Just dribble at a spot (EX: Freethrow line) stop suddenly (act like you're completely stopped) then push forward as hard as you can.
