Basketball slump?

okay guys, ive played for my highschool for 3yrs now and would like to finish strong... but as ive been working a lot this summer i havent had ANY time for practise in about 4 weeks!!

i tried shooting around for a few hours today... but i had no progression. :(

normally im a strong balanced player (drive shoot dribble pass well) so having it all stunned is very frustrating.

although its happened before i cannot seem to break out of this particular slump.

My question is... any other basketball players in a slump have any suggestions for me? because getting back to normal should be a quick process.. so i can improve over the next few months.

Thanks in advance

  1. look at ray allen... he came out of his... u will come out of yours.. its not like u lost ur power of somethin... just keep shootin keep playin and it will come bac... maybe not in the playoffs in a clutch game but it will lol

  2. GET A SLUMP BUSTER BRO!!

  3. Grow a mustache. It worked for Giambi.

  4. I assume that this is a shooting slump.  Remember these things:  Pay attention to your misses.  Every miss that is short or long, left or right, tells you something that you can adjust.

After every miss, you must evaluate where the miss was, what you did to make it miss that way and how to correct it.

If you miss long, you brought the ball too close to your body and flung it instead of shooting with good arc.  If you miss short, your grip or your follow through is not right.  If you miss to the sides, either your forearm is not lined up to the rim or your off hand is interfering with your shooting hand.

  5. give up

  6. I guess all I can tell you to do is what I do and that is keep doing what you normally do, even if you feel akward or your shot doesn't feel right. The only way to come out of a slump is to keep a positive attitude and to keep shooting, driving and doing what you normally do. Sooner or later your shots will start falling and you'll feel right at home out there. Maybe consider staying in the gym and shooting for a couple hours or so. Just don't shy away from the ball or be reluctant to shoot when you're playing.
