Question:

Basketball stations for adapted PE class?

i need about 5 different activities (or at least 5 different goals to reach) for different stations in my PE class. The children i teach have severe and multiple disabilities and a lot of them are in wheelchairs and some can't move themselves. therefore any activities have to be soooo simplified. for example, i have 5 different height bball hoops that the students can "shoot" or push the ball into. any ideas for something even a little different for each station? thanks for any suggestions.

  1. You could use different types of balls - a regular basketball at one station, a miniature basketball at another, a sponge ball at another, etc.  One station you could use a hoola hoop as the hoop and a beach ball as the ball.

  2. Do it from a different side at each station with a different hand if possible, also do it by using the backboard and not using the backboard.
