Bass fishing crank bait?

Question

who makes a crank bait without the noisy rattles? im fishing simi clear and the rattles in crank baits dont help.one with a coffin lip would be even better.i called bass pro does anyone actually bass fish that works there.. they didnt have a answer.

Rapala makes a few  crank baits that do not have rattles in them. Most of their olders styles can be found that will meet your needs. However, Salmo does have a pretty good bait that might be want you want, sans coffin bill. Check it out at cabelas  under crank baits

Try using a rapala original minnow i know it doesn't have a coffin lip but I can almost guarantee you will catch fish with it

Derrik, I'll bet you work at Cabellas huh? Take the rattles (shot) out of the baits you like the color and look of and go have at it. I mean you are talking about what? a drill into plastic and pouring them out? I do it and I seal up the hole with a little silicone caulking. Usually though and this is no lie I add more shot, not remove it. I want the d**n thing to sound like a fricking huge school of bait going by and when the big one comes out to find out what the racket is? She see's only the lone straggler that fell behind. Something If I might be so bold so as to suggest is this: crank baits demand a strike, itcomes only from an ambushing, ready to eat animal (fish) what make them eat? What make any preditor eat? Preditors being higher up on the food chain, ambush what they ea. they are triggered by what they percieve to be an easy (a weak, slower than the rest, having trouble with life, almost dying) prey. I fish for bass white sea bass and halibut now almost exclusively. I move my rod tip like a spastic having an epeleptic siesure, up down side to side stop and start quick and slow all over the place. This type of presentation demands attention and if any find of preditor is any where near where you casted, it won't be able to take it. A food that is acting so wierd is way too tempting to ignore. and they inhale it.

I'm surprised that BPS was not able to help you. They have a few crankbaits under their name that does not have rattles.

Rapala and bandit are some other choices and if you are not worried about spending a little more money you can even try the lucky craft crankbaits.
