The Reds had made the signing of Mario Gotze earlier this summer from Borussia Dortmund but manager Pep Guardiola claimed that he needs Thiago Alcantara in his plans for next season. Bayern shelled €20 million to Barcelona for signing the midfielder. The
price can rise up to €25 million in the future.

The German international expressed his delight on signing the player and is hopeful that he will live up to the expectations of the club and manager. He insisted that his side will have to help the Spaniard settle at his new club and admitted that it will
take time.
“He's a very, very gifted footballer, who has everything you need to become one of the greats. We’re delighted we've acquired a player of his quality. We still have to help him settle but I think it'll happen really quickly,” he was quoted as saying in an
interview.
Schweinsteiger stated that he is recovering from his heel injury and stated that he will be fit in time for the start of the new season. The player claimed that the training is on and he will be up and running in a few weeks.
“It was great to be playing with the team again and do a few of the exercises. I'm feeling very good. I need to feel more secure, but I've made a start,” he concluded.
Bayern Munich won the precious treble last season comprising of the UEFA Champions League, Bundesliga and the German Cup. They will be looking to build on their success and will be eyeing more trophies in the upcoming campaign with new manager Pep Guardiola.
