The Bayern Munich midfielder has expressed his frustration at his slow recovery process which has prevented him from playing against Koln and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Bochum-c40880.
Schweinsteiger was talking in the wake of his team’s 2-1 win in a DFB-Pokal game against VfL Bochum on Tuesday, December 20.
The midfielder was once again forced to stay away from action, as he failed to recover from the collarbone injury he picked up against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 in the UEFA Champions League.
Schweinsteiger was ruled out of action for upto one month, but the German had hopes of making a return in the last two games before the winter break. He admitted that it is extremely hard to stay away from action, adding that he
is getting frustrated for not being a part of the club’s recent success.
The Bayern star expressed his disappointment over the delay in recovery process, and admitted that he had set his sights on an early return.
While talking to the DAPD, the 27-year-old further stated:
"Of course I was sad and a little disappointed because for three weeks I've worked every day to make a comeback this year. Many have said: 'There are only two games'. But, for me, a quick comeback would have been important so I
could go into the holiday with better morale."
Schweinsteiger’s absence took its toll on the Reds performances, who suffered three defeats without their prized asset.
The midfielder will now have to wait until late January before he makes a return against one of the unlikely title contenders, Borussia Monchengladbach.
Schweinsteiger has made 11 league appearances thus far this season, bagging two goals and three assists in return. He has been the cornerstone behind the success Bayern have enjoyed so far this season.
With Bayern having qualified for the Champions League knock-out stages and the quarter-finals of the DFB-Pokal, they must keep Schweinsteiger fit for the remainder of the season. Bayern top the league standings with 37 points and
are looking favourites to win the league.
