The Bayern Munich midfielder insists that the team is not concerned on how Dortmund perform and is confident of lifting the title.
Bayern Munich’s http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Bastian-Schweinsteiger-c7374 has expressed his desire to win this season’s Bundesliga by continuing their unbeaten run. He was talking after his side’s 1-0 win at Nuremberg on Saturday, March 31, at the easyCredit-Stadion.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 scored the only goal of the game in the 69th minute to close the gap on current leaders Borussia Dortmund to three points.
The midfielder mentioned that the Reds are solely concerned with their own form and want to win each of their remaining games. He stated that every individual is focussed and wishes to become the German champions by the end of
this season. However, he admitted that Bayern cannot afford any slipups in the remaining six league fixtures.
Bayern are currently sitting second in the league standings with 60 points, three points adrift of the Borussians who played out a 4-4 draw at home to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879 on Friday, March 30. Both the title rivals will lock horns on
April 11 in what could prove to be a decisive fixture in terms of this season’s crown.
While talking to reporters after the game, the 27-year-old further added:
"We're playing every three days, so winning was all that mattered [against Nurnberg]. We're not concerned with what Dortmund do, we're just aiming to win our own matches. At the moment there's total desire in the team, and all
credit for that. We obviously want to win the title."
On the other hand, Schweinsteiger also commented on his team’s chances in the UEFA Champions League. He stressed that Bayern must not feel over confident and make the best use of their opportunities against Olympique Marseille
in the second-leg of their quarter-final tie on Tuesday, April 3, at the Allianz Arena.
"However, first of all we have to make the most of our good position in the Champions League on Tuesday thanks to the 2-0 victory in Marseille," the German concluded.
Bayern are 2-0 up after the first-leg at the Stade Velodrome last week and a likely win in the return fixture could set their date with Real Madrid in the semi-final. Los Blancos are also in ascendancy after the first-leg win against
APOEL Nicosia.
