Bastian Trinker, Tomas Tenconi win in opening qualies – Bluexpress.com Tennis Cup 2011 CH
Qualifying eighth seed, Austrian Bastian Trinker advanced in the qualifying draw of the 2011 Bluexpress.com Tennis Cup in Todi, Italy on Saturday, 10th September after destroying local wildcard entrant, Lorenzo Santini
in straight sets.
The Austrian fought against the local’s crowd support to secure a 6-0, 6-0 win in only forty five minutes.
Winning the toss, Trinker opened serve in the first serve as he comfortably put himself on the scoreboard.  Dominating from the very start, Trinker clinched an early break in the second game before holding his own in the third
to lead the set 3-0. Determined to make it a perfect victory, Trinker continued his assault of the local well into the fourth game going five games to none in the score. The flabbergasted local’s bleak defence stood no chance against the Austrian’s onslaught.
Broken yet again in the sixth game, Santini surrendered the first set with a bagel defeat.
Relying on no aces, Trinker capitalised off the local’s disappointing 22 percent first serve win adding his own 86 percent to the mix to go one up in the set score.
Continuing his onslaught in the second set, Trinker started off with yet another win. Down and broken, Santini put up almost no defence though he did manage to save one of four breakpoint opportunities. Clinching three breakpoint
opportunities one after the other, Trinker cruised to yet another bagel set victory, reeling off twelve straight games.
The Austrian now moves on ahead to play yet another local, Tomas Tenconi in the second round of the qualifying draw.
Playing compatriot wildcard entrant Andrea Caligiana in his opening round of the qualifying draw, Tenconi cruised to an easy straight sets victory as he secured a 6-1, 6-0 win in only thirty five minutes.
Kicking off with a successful hold of serve, the pair managed to put themselves on the scoreboard with one game each. However, from there on Caligiana failed to find his way to the board losing eleven straight games. With only
one ace, zero double faults and an 85 percent win, Tenconi clinched a breadstick victory in the first set.
Taking his performance up a notch in the second set, Tenconi reeled off six straight games to a bagel victory breaking his opponent thrice in the process.
