  1. It's not dancing like you think. Remember, it is a Jewish custom, not a Bronx custom.  Just wear a nice slim fitting gown that doesn't have all the froo-froos and isn't S****y. Old Jewish people like it when you are talkative and smile a lot.  Just do that and your set.

  2. a bar mitzva gift is usually money if you're an adult.

if you're kid then give $10-$100 usually does it.

  3. so i've been to some bat mitzvahs before and i was like that. calm down.

okay first reply to the invitation telling the person who invited you if you can go or not.

    regarding what clothes to where:

is it an invitation to the service and party or just the party?

if it is an invitation to both you might want to prepare 2 dresses one for the party and one for the service. you should go to service and not just the party (it is a sign of respect)

choose a formal dress with high heels and it doesn't matter how you put your hair. you don't have to wear makeup unless you want to same with jewelry.

regarding what presents you should bring:

either money (cash in multiples of $18) it's traditional

gift cards (put in multiples of $18)

    jewelry

just something that symbolizes her going from a child to a young women (thats what the bat mitzvah celebration is for)

if your going to the service you don't have to bring the present then...unless you are going to the party right after and you can't go back home (usually the service is in the morning and the party is at night) you can just bring it at the party and there will be a table that you can put it on.

there is going to be a DJ at the party and yes you will do some dancing :)

you can just take off your heels and they will give you socks to wear so you don't need to bring extra shoes.

there will be food there and usually they will give you like a goodie bag or a souvenir to bring home

all you need to do is act polite and respectful (the normal)

    have fun! :D

  4. I heard that a lot of people give money at a Bat Mitzva. I have only been to a quincearia but it was a lot of fun. Try getting her a gift that will make her feel more grown up! :]

    Hope I could help,

    laneyyyyyyy

  5. I went to my friend's Bat Mitzva the other day, like last Saturday.

DO NOT go to the Church part unless the specifically ask you to. It was two hours of standing there listening to people speak in Hebrew.

We gave my friend a check for twenty dollars and we just acted quiet.

She had only had a lunch party type thing afterwards, and there wasn't any dancing.
