Bat Mitzvah Murder Mystery party?

I want to help my aunt host a murder mystery Bat Mitzvah celebration for my cousin. Has anyone done this before? Where do I begin?

Murder Mystery parties are fun, but that's a little strange for a Bat Mitzvah  ....  celebrating the passage into womanhood and life with a murder?

bat mizvahs are usually expected to be very exciting and loud and full of food and laughter and drinking [adults only]

a murder mystery is very staged and planned and doesn't leave a lot of room for dancing and fun, and its a very organized game for a bunch of excited 13 year olds.

if you're really interested, try copying directions from a kit you can buy at a bookstore. obviously the kit will alot characters and a plot for under 20 people, but you can add made up charaters and get a basic idea.
