Bated Breath bids farewell to his racing career
Just before the retirement of Galileo’s colt, Frankel, the owner, Khalid Abdullah, has decided to retire Bated Breath to stud duty. The five-year-old brought back to the Juddmonte Farm Ltd prize money under £420,000, and was successful in four out of eighteen
career outings.
Winning a Group 1 remained a wish of Dansili’s bay horse and the connections. He did muster come courage and determination to qualify as the runner-up four times at such occasions. The rankings stand true for the Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup 2011 and the Group
1 King’s Stand Stakes this season.
That last race that he became a part of was the Group 1 Betfred Sprint Cup (British Champions Series) on 8th September, 2012 at Haydock race course over six furlongs. His career did not end with a devastating blow to the record rather he brought
back £24,210.00 prize money after ending at the third position while paired up with jockey, James Doyle.
The race was won by, Society Rock.
Charlton said: "Bated Breath leaves Beckhampton this week to go to Juddmonte Farm's Banstead Manor Stud to take up stallion duties alongside his hugely popular sire Dansili.”
"He has been a wonderful horse to train, genuine, tough, sound, and consistent with a bombproof temperament.”

Even though he could not win at very prestigious and significant races, but had the poise and passion of a champion. The bay horse raced at multiple race courses and had quite valuable experience under his belt.
Most of the races that five-year-old out of, Tantina, won were either with jockey, Jimmy Fortune or Steve Drowne. One success of the current season he bagged was with, George Baker.
The stable is already anxious to train and then race his off springs as that remains to be the only way Bated Breath can contribute back to the profession in which he remained for quite some time.
