Bated Breath to prevail in the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot
Roger Charlton's charge, Bated Breath, is the one to watch out for in the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot on 19th June, 2012. Based on his previous performance, the runner is gaining a significant amount of attention.
The son of Dansili, out of mare Tantina, recently aced the Group 2 Betfred.com Temple Stakes at Haydock on 26th May, 2012, where he defeated, Sole Power by a neck.
There is a possibility that the rivalry will be renewed as the two runners will fight to dominate this prestigious event.
Sole Power claimed the Betfred.com Temple Stakes in May, 2011, but failed to defend his title, and now both these runners will lock horns in the King’s Stand Stakes to settle the score once and for all.
Bated Breath has scored six times in his fifteen starts, and looks like he will be able to bag this one.
Hoof It, trained by Michael Easterby, will not be competing in this event, but chances are that the five-year-old will in the Diamond Jubilee Stakes and take on Black Caviar.
Trainer Robert Cowell might consider Prohibit, Monsieur Joe and Spirit Quartz, for this event and among these three entries, Prohibit has the most appeal since he claimed the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes at Ascot on 14th June,
2011, when he defeated the Danny O'Brien trained, Star Witness, by half-length.
Foreign runners Little Bridge, Ortensia, Wizz Kid, and Joy And Fun will also compete in the event, with the hope of securing the victory, however, they are still in the confirmation stage, and their actual participation has not been confirmed yet.
Aidan O’Brien has decided to run Crusade, the three-year-old colt who races under the banner of M. Tabor, D. Smith and Mrs. J. Magnier.

The bay and brown colt failed to deliver in the Group 3 Weatherbys Ireland Greenlands Stakes at Curragh in May, 2012, but he will look to atone for his defeat in the upcoming race..
The son of Mr. Greeley, out of mare La Traviata, claimed an impressive Group 1 victory in the Emaar Middle Park Stakes at Newmarket in October, 2011, and he is capable of repeating the feat.
