English professional Rugby Union player, Duncan Bell, is all set to make his 200th appearance for the English professional Rugby Union Club, Bath Rugby. He will make his 200th
appearance for Bath in their upcoming 2011/12 Aviva Premiership encounter against the Exeter Chiefs on Saturday, September 17 at Recreation Ground.
Bath Rugby’s experienced and talent front row forward player has expressed his delight on achieving the landmark. While talking to the club's website he said, “It's great. I am very proud of
that record. To play that many times for the club I supported as a boy is something I could only have dreamed would happen.”
In replying to a question, regarding how it feels to be playing his 200th game at the Rec, Bell replied, “I love every time I run out at the Rec. It really is a fantastic venue.”
He added that his only regret is that he has not been able to help the club to win their silverware and he’ll try his level best to achieve that milestone.
The Norfolk born Bell start playing his rugby at Bath before joining the NEC Harlequins’ youth club. In 1996, he joined Ebbw Vale and after spending a season with them he signed his new professional
deal with the Sale Sharks.
Bell joined the Sale Sharks at the start of the 1997/98 season and remained with them until the end of the 2000/01 season. He made 78 appearances for the Sharks and scored 20 points for them
during his stay at the club.
In 2001, Bell joined the Pontypridd on a two-year deal. He made 65 appearances for the Pontypridd and scored 65 points for them.
The 36-year-old Bell joined Bath Rugby at the start of the 2003/04 season. The current 2011/12 season is his ninth consecutive season at the club. He so far has made 199 appearances for the
Bath in both domestic and European competitions.
Bell has been named in the starting xv for their weekend game against the Chiefs. He will start the match at the tight head prop position and will form the front row forwards pack with David
Flatman and Pieter Dixon.
