Question:

Bathing a rat?

My 10 month old male rat is stinky. Also, I just treated him for mites for the second time. I change his cage weekly and try to keep him as clean as possible, but somehow he manages to stay as stinky as possible. Can I bathe him in maybe a large bowl with some mild baby soap and warm water. Will it harm him or make him sick?

  1. you can bathe him in the sink,in warm water, and use baby shampoo the tearless kind....and make sure you dry him good :)

  2. Bathe him, my old rat that I used to have loved playing in the tub

  3. I think you can bathe him but you need to be careful.  They get scared easily.

  4. You can bathe him in any sink or tub with warm water, probably washing him with your mild baby soap would be good. He wont get sick or catch a cold if you dry him well, and make sure you get him lots of love, i've never had a rat that enjoys being in the tub. also, i wouldnt recomment bathing him in a bowl, hed figure out how to tip it over trying to climb out.
