A few days ago, this gray substance started coming out of the water. Then that was gone and the water was cut down to almost nothing. Now for about 3 days half of the normal water stream is coming out but not with the gray color. Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix this?

  1. Both above are right.  Usually 3 places a small chunk of mineral deposits gets lodged and restricts water flow:

1.Aerators or shower head-  unscrew and clean out screens

2.Faucet valves- take apart and flush out with water

3.Shut-off valves- must turn off main water supply before taking apart to clean

  2. Yep! this happened to me and I got the plumber in, thought it was something drastic, he took the taps apart and soaked them in limescale remover, you can do this with shower head as well, the flow afterwards was a luxury, alas the expense .........

  3. It sounds like mineral deposits from your water pipes but whatever it was it probably clogged the faucet screen.  You can take it apart and clean it.
