Bathroom sink clogged, used sulphuric acid, now more clogged! Ideas?

I have a bathroom sink that clogs up regularly - it's been getting pretty bad. Have tried caustic soda on it previously, with little success. Lately it's gotten real bad, so I finally picked up some One Shot cleaner (it's mainly sulphuric acid) thinking this should do the trick. I poured some in, it started acting like crazy, I left it alone, then when the time came to flush the sink it turned out that it was now almost completely blocked.

I then managed to take the trap off from beneath the sink, gave it a good stare but it's not blocked at all. Still, water won't run through the sink.

What could be the cause of this? And what to do about it?

  1. I've heard of using vinegar, baking soda and boiling water to open up a clog. Cheap and easy. Just search for vinegar uses on internet for more details.

  2. Dude you need a power auger if you tried all that .Call a plumber!!!

  3. caustic soda and sulphuric acid are some really drastic methods to use on a lil ol bathroom sink.

Not to mention the fact that these things sometimes tend to erupt in the faces of the users.Causing blindness and disfigurement.

its better to just take the trap apart and run a snake thru the wall.

Most of the time a bathroom clog is mainly an accumulation of hair.

  4. The stopper is possibly clogged with hair.  need to remove it and remove the hair.
