Question:

Bathroom sink faucet replacement question

The new faucet came with plastic wing nuts to secure it to the sink. The old faucet has metal nuts holding it in place. I can not remove these nuts. I can't get much leverage with any type of wrench under the sink. Is there a type of tool that would work, or should I remove the sink so that I have more room to work with?

  1. Normally the basin wrench will work, occasionally you will need to remove the sink to get them, they can be very tight and there isn't much room to work up there.

  2. There is a tool called a nut splitter. It threads on tho the faucet threads and you tighten a wedge on the old nut and it splits it in half. Awesome tool!

  3. A basin wrench-available at your local hardware store. It's why we get the big bucks.
