Batman: Arkham City Special Edition Best Buy and GameStop details, how close were we?
We here at Bettor.com, have some of the brightest minds when it comes to speculation surrounding video games, mostly because all we do is sit in the office and dream about how one’s favourite video game would look, sound and feel, in terms of gameplay.
Recently, we were busy speculating as to what gamers could expect in the upcoming Batman: Arkham City Special Edition, after a listing appeared on the website at one of the United States of America’s largest retailers, Best Buy.
With no information as to what the Special Edition would hold and with only a $99 price to go on, the hardworking men and women (read Batman fans) at Bettor.com got to work attempting to figure out just what Rocksteady could, and should, put in the box.
In fact, it turns out we were not too far away, as both Best Buy and GameStop, another American retailer specializing in video games, gave everyone a snippet of what the Special Edition would bring to the table.
Starting off with the announcement of a statue; while not exactly an action figure in its truest sense (as the limbs of the statue cannot be manipulated) the statue will be of one of the many characters in the game.
Produced by Kotobukiya, who are well experienced in the field, the statue is set to be the highlight of the Edition, yet there still has been no confirmation on which character the statue will be taking inspiration from.
Another neat little extra is the Gotham Knight animated content. Again details are far from being specific, but it seems that ‘teasingly’ is the way Rocksteady, the game’s developer, likes to play things when it comes to Batman.
However, anything animated related to Batman, in addition to the game seems a mouth watering prospect.
Next up is another little item which will have comic book fans wetting their pants in excitement, as the pack includes concept art from the game and Batman art in general, all bound together in a neat little book.
Lastly, Rocksteady got down to business with the final item granting the players early access to add-on content which the developer will be releasing with the game.
All in all, the package has what everyone would expect in the deal at a $99 price. The statue will be a major incentive for gamers, while the art book and animated content seem like sweeteners.
