Batman: Arkham City delayed!
There may be pandemonium and chaos on the streets of Arkham come the release of Rocksteady’s next Batman game, Batman: Arkham City, but it seems there be a similar case of unrest and riots in the real world after the announcement that the game has been delayed.
Yes, the readers read it right, Batman: Arkham City has been delayed, however, there is no need to panic; unless of course the reader owns a PC and uses it only as a gaming platform. Just to confirm, the PC version of Rocksteady’s second instalment of the
Batman franchise has hit a few bumps on its way to meeting its scheduled release date.
Batman: Arkham City for the PC will now be releasing sometime in November; the exact date has not been officially confirmed, however, the original release date of October 21 has been scrapped.
The news came following an announcement from the game’s publisher, Warner Bros. No reason was stated for the delay but at least console gamers will be glad that the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game will be releasing on schedule.
There is little doubt that this will result in a fair amount of flame wars on YouTube and Video Game related forums across the internet, as to which is the better all round solution for gaming, but as long as PC gamers end up getting their nerdy hands on
Batman, it will not hurt them for too long.
Rocksteady had kept up a steady stream of announcements relating to the game with character reveals such as the Best Buy exclusive Robin character model, Catwoman as a playable character, Bane returning to the game and the Penguin featuring.
Also announced were other characters such as Solomon Grundy, Talia Al-Ghul and Deadshot who would all feature in the game, with the latter having his own investigation themed sub-plot in the game as well. The story mode is also set to last gamers in excess
of 24 hours and will offer even more game time, in terms of re-playabilty as the difficulty will get amped up the second time round.
The world of Arkham City is also set to be four times as big as the meticulously detailed one in its predecessor, Batman: Arkham Asylum. However, this is one announcement very few gamers would have taken to with a smile, console gamers being the ones who
probably did.
Whatever the case, it will do little to dampen the excitement and hype surrounding the follow up to the comic book character/superhero based game.
