Batman: Arkham City gets Robin, L.A. Noire gets a DLC and Yakuza ships over four million units
Batman’s sidekick, Robin is to feature in the highly anticipated Batman: Arkham City as a playable character.
There had been plenty of speculation that Robin would appear in the sequel to the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum, and Rocksteady - the game’s developer - seemed to think that the time was right for the reveal.
The news follows the confirmations that Catwoman and the Penguin will feature in the game. Catwoman will be a fully playable character, while no one is sure as to what role the Penguin will play.
Robin is set to have his own unique set of attack moves and combos, as well as his own line-up of gadgets. Rocksteady also decided to throw in an alternate costume for the boy wonder as he can swap his standard apparel for a Red Robin skin.
Yet, as with all good things that are too good to be true, there is one thing that is sure to disappoint some fans, and that is the fact that players can only opt to play as Robin in the game’s challenge maps.
At the same time, players can only get access to Robin, if they pre-order the game from Best Buy, making him seem more of an extra than a core part of the game.
SEGA will be glad to hear of the news that one of their most well known franchises, Yakuza, shipped five million copies worldwide. Of the seven Yakuza titles that have been released so far, one was released on the handheld and another, Yakuza: Kenzan deviated
from the main storyline.
The latest Yakuza title, ‘Of the End,’ managed to ship over 400,000 units in around 14 days.
Meanwhile, Rockstar are busy adding more content to one of this year’s contenders for Game of the Year, by releasing the Nicholson Electroplating Downloadable Content Pack.
This follows a number of DLCs already released by the Publisher, as they seem to continue supporting the game that set a new benchmark for facial animations in Video Games.
Available on both the PlayStation Store and the Xbox Live Marketplace, the DLC is the second last case that will be framed on actual, real life events. For PlayStation 3 users, the pack will cost $3.99 and Xbox users will have to part with 320 Microsoft
Points.
The case will see Phelps, the game’s protagonist, attempt to solve the mystery behind the 1947 Electro-Plating disaster in which 15 people lost their lives.
