Rocksteady seem ready to give gamers an excuse to wipe the dust of their copies of Arkham City by doing what they do best and that is teasing something new about the game.
In the build-up to the release of Batman: Arkham City, Rocksteady, the game’s developer, tortured and teased the gaming community with trailers, character reveals and plot details in a deliberate, almost teasing, manner.
Images were put up and a trailer which players had to find clues in and decipher for themselves were put up and it seemed that the developer had a new announcement to tease every fortnight or so and just when you thought they were done, Rocksteady surprised
one all over again with another announcement out of the blue.
One would think that the game’s release would have brought an end to their shenanigans, yet that, it turns out, is not the case as rumours of a DLC have emerged following the developer posting a picture on the internet of what is unmistakably Harley Quinn’s
boots and WWE Superstar, Triple H’s jackhammer.
Ok, so maybe the Triple H bit isn’t all that true. Yet, the image, which the developer revealed via Twitter, is obviously hinting at something and seeing how the game is already out, all signs point to a DLC.
As to what the DLC will contain, well from the picture one could deduce it has something to do with the Joker’s partner in crime, Harley Quinn, and may introduce her as a playable character complete with her own unique set of moves.
There are also rumours that Robin will also feature in the DLC after a list of PlayStation 3 trophies related to the game were leaked online.
As to whether or not the DLC will expand on the single-player campaign or be restricted to the Challenge Mode remains to be seen, yet knowing Rocksteady, that mystery will soon be put to the rest. In the mean time fans of the series can do what they did
in the build up to the game and wonder what the developers have up their sleeves this time.
