Batman: The Dark Knight questions.....?

Question

I have three questions:

1) Did the Joker die at the end of the movie?

2) Are they making another Batman movie anytime soon?

3) Is it true that Johnny Depp and Phillip Seymour Hoffman are going to be in the next movie?

1: HEATH LEGER'S dead, but the Joker would be sent back to Arkham Asylum if the movie's accurate. And F.Y.I. Two-Face MIGHT not be dead.

2: Apparently they will.

3: Sorry. Dunno.

1. The joker was absent at the end of the movie...whether or not he died is a mystery...

2. Yes they are making another batman movie...that is probably why they didn't want to give away the death or mere absence...it probably won't be soon before the next movie comes out...

3. Johnny Depp and Phillip Hoffman will be in the next movie...

1. A death scene for the Joker was filmed. However due to Heath Ledger's untimely passing it was decided to keep that scene out of the movie, even though Christian Bale was a strong supporter of keeping the scene. So In the final cut no he didn't die, but he was supposed to.

2. A new movie isn't announced, but given how successfully Dark Knight was I'd say it's guaranteed.

3. Until a movie is actually written and casting begins, there is no way at all to tell who will or will not be in the next movie. At this point, I could be in the new Batman movie.

(1) They didn't say, but I can guarantee that he won't be in the third. They have too much respect for Ledger's performance.

(2) Yes, they are trying very hard to have Christopher Nolan write and direct a third movie. But regardless, there will be a third movie.

(3) No. That is just a rumor. It is newspapers and internet sites speculating about the third movie. According to the rumor, Depp is the good choice for The Riddler (totally agree) and Hoffman for The Penguin (I'm not familiar with this actor).
