  1. I don't know of any place you can take lessons off the top of my head, but if it's something you really want to do, then it's not too late. I don't know how close this place is to you, but here is a studio I found looking through yellowpages.com ->http://www.twirl-n-talent.com/

I've been twirling for 5 years, or close to it.  And I keep learning something new everyday. It's so much fun, and if you really like it then you will probably want to get out and practice, which will catch you up with the rest of us.

Also you can just twirl for fun, and not compete if you really think you are "too late". Although that is some of the fun. And like I said, you can catch up pretty easily.

  2. It depends what your goals are.

If you just want to take up twirling because it looks fun and cool, then go for it!

On the other hand, if you want to get into the whole competition/majorette business, it can be hard to catch up to some of the other girls so late, because you have to start from ground zero and work your way up. There are some amazing twirlers out there. I was a twirler on and off for 5 years before I started getting into competitions at 13. My first competition was a rude awakening because there were girls half my age, doing tricks I could barely even comprehend!

But twirling is a fun sport and if you learn even some basic tricks, it amazes people! lol
