  1. Well, if you twirl with a group, you know twirlers there but for the competitors that twirl solo events only, they have it tough. Often you meet up with other twirlers at competitions and that's the only time you get together. I would suggest exchanging e-mail addys or phone numbers with other girls at the contests. Even if you don't live close, the phone and computer are great ways to keep in touch and encourage each other in the great sport of baton twirling!

What organization were you competing at when you did the 2 spin? Most orgs (AAU, NBTA, DMA, etc) allow a 2 spin at the Novice level. At the DMA Nationals 2 weeks ago the girls were attempting 4 spins at the Special Beginner level. The important thing to remember is that when you compete, you are merely asking for that particular judge's opinion of your performance and your routine on that particular day. One judge may love what you do and another hate it. It is all opinion and the most important thing about competitive baton twirling is that you feel good when you walk off the floor. That's what it's all about!

Do your best and have fun.
