my E-Z-go golf cart is a 1988 model. Don't know how old the batteries are. Previous owner said that he has been maintaining the batteries.

  1. I think you would need to get someone to check that out for you.

In the mean while at least you can enjoy walking around the golf course while your buggy hasn't got any juice.

    Have fun!

  2. before spending a bunch of money...I'd have it thouroughly checked by a mechanic.  there are several things that might be causing this.

  3. Batteries are only part of the system.  The batteries have to be connected to an electric motor to turn the axle, so if the batteries are ok but you still lose power, check the motor.  You can get it bench tested, where you pull it out, and apply juice to it and see how much power it puts out and how much juice is lost.

It might also be the cables if they haven't been replaced in 20 years.  And make sure that the connections aren't corroded.

  4. Wether or not the previous owner maintained the batteries or not, they are eventually going to die. And it sounds like they died. You can get new batteries for it at http://www.needbattery.com

  5. you should sell that one and get a gas powered one
