Can anyone tell me the amount of battery-caged chicken in Australia? Or maybe a percentage of battery chicken?

  1. This site says 95% of Aust. laying hens, and I think that would be right, judging by the eggs you see at the supermarket. Nearly all of them say 'Cage Eggs' on the carton. Only a few say 'Free Range', etc..

"Today, 95 %of Australia's commercial laying hens live in battery cages. That's 11 million birds."
